On the Road to Clean Air: The Video Since 1970, heavy-duty diesel engines have become far better for the environment. Engine manufacturers have totally redesigned their products to dramatically reduce emissions. This along with cleaner diesel fuel has lowered emissions in today's trucks, creating the potential for a virtually smokeless environment. Yet, despite this progress, there has been much criticism about black smoke from diesel bus and truck engines, even though commercial trucks are only a small contributor to some sources of air pollution. This Real Video presentation, On the Road to Clean Air, explores the history of the Clean Air Act, its 1970 Amendments and the role trucks are playing in making the air we breath safer. | |||||||||||||
